Blackpool based Diane Rostron has been ranked as one of the leading clinical negligence law firms in the North West for the seventh consecutive year in the Legal 500 2026 directory.
Described in the current edition of the annual directory as ‘outstanding’, the practice is led by veteran Diane Rostron who has represented families affected by avoidable permanent birth injuries for in excess of 30 years.
Catastrophic birth injury expert Diane Rostron said: “We work incredibly hard to find the answers and secure the much needed compensation for families let down by the NHS. We are delighted to be recognised for delivering excellent legal representation ranking side by side with larger law firms in the region.
“Sadly, it is increasingly difficult for families who have either lost their child, or whose child is permanently brain damaged due to medical negligence, to receive the transparent answers they are entitled to and subsequently, the compensation that they deserve.”
The firm secured a £9.08 million settlement in November 2024 for a young man who suffered preventable brain damage during his birth in Preston twenty years ago. The case had previously been investigated, and subsequently closed, by another firm who failed to deliver a successful outcome.
Diane Rostron also represents families during the inquest process recently representing the parents of three year old Ryleigh Hillcoat-Bee who died at Blackpool Victoria Hospital after the trust failed to act on abnormal test results.
Legal 500 2026 has also noted Eleanor Rostron as a key member of the team specialising in stillbirth and neonatal death compensation claims.
